Petroleum jelly types There are different types and grades of petroleum jelly, which are different based on their properties and uses. Types of petroleum jelly can be divided into three categories, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and industrial, based on their use.
Pharmaceutical petroleum jelly is mainly used in the preparation of ointments, skin protection creams and raw materials for cosmetics, as well as anti-rust and lubricants for medical and precision instruments. Petrolatum is essentially mineral oil jelly and is more commonly known as petroleum jelly.
White petroleum jelly is used in cosmetic applications. The yellow petroleum jelly is less refined than the white petroleum jelly and may contain some impurities. It is commonly used in industrial applications.
Another Petroleum jelly types is based on the amount of macro-crystalline wax added to this composition, which can be produced and exported under the names of Snow White and Super Snow White by Persia Paraffin Company. Snow White and Super Snow White are general purpose food grade petroleum jelly. It can be used in a variety of applications from metal protection and lubrication of machinery used in food preparation to pharmaceutical applications as a component of barrier ointments and creams.
